The grand final of the Sunshine Coast Law Association Mooting Tournament was held on 23 October.

The problem question and each team's written submissions can be accessed here.

The finalists were:

  • Helen Smith and Blake Crook, instructed by Rees O'Brien for the Plaintiff
  • Michael Jefferies and David Knobel, instructed by Samantha McGowan for the Defendant.

We would like to thank the prestigious bench who adjudicated the advocacy skills of our finalists, his Honour District Court Judge Robertson, Mr Alex McKean, Barrister-at-law, and Mr Geoffrey Barr, Barrister-at-Law.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the SCLA and also our secondary sponsor, the College of Law, the winning team will be given the opportunity to represent the USC Law Students' Association competing at the Australian Mooting Championships at the 2016 ALSA Conference in Hobart!

Information about mooting in general can be accessed on its dedicated page here.

Please direct any questions to Krishna Alister, Vice-President Competitions: competitions@usclsa.org

We would also like to thank our secondary sponsor, the College of Law, for their support.
