WHAT: Special General Meeting

WHEN: Monday 21 March, 4-5pm

WHERE: Library Seminar room, USC Sippy Downs. This is on the bottom level of the library; go down stairs, walk to the opposite end of the room and the entrance is around to the left.

The following positions are currently vacant:

First Year Representative(s): These Representatives are an initiative to allow new law students to get involved in the Committee prior to the Annual General Meeting, and to represent their cohort. Three representatives will be elected from the incoming student cohort, and unlike other positions, are voted upon exclusively by members of that incoming cohort. This includes students who are in their first year of university, their first year of a law degree irrespective of previous study, or who are in their first year of study at USC.

Vice-President Publications: responsible for liaising with the Directors under this portfolio to deliver both internal and professional publications on behalf the Association. 

Director of L Card: The Director of L Card is responsible for the growth and development of ‘L Card’ on the Sunshine Coast. This involves contacting businesses, negotiating and entering contracts, and liaising with other L Card representatives including the Secretary, Treasurer, and members in other university law societies, particularly UQLS.

Director of Advocacy Competitions: The Director of Advocacy Competitions works with the Vice-President Competitions to assist and organise in all advocacy-related competitions. This year, this will be the mooting tournament.

Director of Social Events: The Director of Social Events will work with the VP Events to organise events such as pub crawls, social dinners, end of semester break ups, and other such events. The Director of Social Events will facilitate the involvement of the Association in various sporting clubs and groups both on campus and externally. The D. of Social Events is also expected to work with the VP Events and be involved in the Law Ball Sub-Committee. 

Director of Internal Publications:  The Director of Internal Publications is responsible for working with the VP Publications and Director of Marketing and Design to deliver ‘internal’ publications such as Yearbooks, First Year Handbook, Newsletters, Wellbeing Guides and other relevant materials.
