The 2018 Women in Law High Tea - exclusively sponsored by the College of Law, will be held Thursday 20th of September 2018 at Flaxton Gardens.

This event is a celebration of the contribution women have made to our legal system, as well as recognising areas that still need improving in pursuit of equality within the legal profession. These are areas that both our male and female members will be leaders in changing.

Last year our guest speakers included key note speaker the Hon Margaret McMurdo AO, former President of the Queensland Court of Appeal, Ann-Maree David, Executive Director and CEO of The College of Law Queensland, and Pippa Colman, Immediate Past President, SCLA.

This year’s speakers include: 

Jamie Shine - National Special Counsel for the Major Claims team at Shine Lawyers, President of the Women Lawyer's Association Queensland and recently named in the Courier Mail's 'Top 20 Under 40 Business Leaders’

Katie Stride - National Native Title Registrar at the Federal Court of Australia, previously Special Counsel at Crown Law 

Simone Pearce - Lecturer in Law, PhD Candidate and former Partner of Butler McDermott Lawyers 

with the morning to be presided over by: 
Sophia O'Brien - Lawyer, Lecturer-in-Law and PhD Candidate.
