Our Executive Committee

President: Vienna Mitchell

The President is the figurehead and strategic manager of the LSA, who ensures that the activities and executive operations of the Association are conducted smoothly and in line with the LSA's vision.

Vienna is currently in her fourth year of her Bachelor of Laws program at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She also works part-time as a law clerk at My Legal, a firm on the Sunshine Coast. Vienna is looking forward to engaging law students with the LSA's events, competitions and resources.

In 2024 she hopes to further the community created by the LSA and assist law students in their transition between study and professional life. If she's not working or studying, Vienna is probably by the pool, at the beach, reading or with her friends and family.

Secretary: Taylor Medwin

The Secretary manages the Association's administration and miscellaneous matters, acting as the 'glue' that holds the LSA together. This includes maintaining documentation, organising committee meetings and keeping the Association’s calendars up to date.

Taylor is in her second term as Secretary and is currently in her final year of studying a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts (Minors: History/Psychology). She is currently working in the legal industry at Clifford Gouldson Lawyers. Taylor has previously been in the Education Portfolio of the USC LSA as a Director in the Education Portfolio. She has become deeply passionate about the reach and support the USC LSA can provide for students. She excited to use her experience and connections to help the USC LSA grow in 2024!

In her spare time, Taylor loves spending time with her friends and family, trips to the beach, travelling, reading and indulging in fine foods and drinks.

Treasurer: Ruby Natoli

The Treasurer manages all financial matters of the Association.

Ruby is currently in her fifth year studying a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Business (Marketing Major). She also works full time as a conveyancer for Keylaw. Ruby  has a strong passion for financial matters within both business and the law and hopes to use her position to engage students with the LSA and the greater legal industry. Ruby has a keen eye for detail and is determined to see growth within the LSA under her tenure.

Outside of her studies, Ruby enjoys socialising and spending time with her friends, watching the AFL and taking her dog Lulu for walks in the park.

VP Education: Emma Bryan

The VP Education is responsible for promoting all educational interests of the Association. These include issues regarding equity or social justice, academic and career-related skills, and also some professional publications.  

Emma is in her third year studying a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Criminology and Justice. Emma has previously been a director in the Education Portfolio, which enhanced her passion for fostering a supportive, educational, and social environment for all law students. She enjoys promoting various careers obtainable with a law degree, as Emma strives to one day go into academia to do research. Emma hopes to expand the LSA's involvement in both the mental well-being and networking aspects for university students. She is excited to use her experience and position in the LSA to be a friendly face around campus! Outside of university, Emma enjoys trips to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and picking up a creative side hobby.

VP Events: Amelia Strazdins

The VP Events organises and manages all of the Association’s professional and social events, with assistance from the Directors of Events.

 Amelia is in her fourth year of studying a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts (Majoring in International Relations). 

This is Amelia’s second year being involved with the events portfolio and she aims to build upon her experience from 2023 whilst developing connections to UniSC students, staff, and the Sunshine Coast legal community.

VP Publications: Aviendah Dwyer-Flynn

The VP Publications is responsible for the overall design, processing and productions of the Association’s publications.

 Aviendah (better known as Avi) is currently in her last year, studying a Bachelor of Laws/ Bachelor of Business (Major: Management). 

Avi is currently working at a small jewellery store in Caloundra where she creates social media content and helps create beautiful memories for many customers. She strives to one day own and manage a business of her own where she can bring joy and creativity to many others, until then you might find her travelling around the world. 

She loves the small things and in her spare time you’ll find her at a picnic, baking or chilling with her friends.

VP Competitions: James Woods

The VP Competitions organises and prepares all internal competitions, and interacts with external bodies in relation to competitions.

James is in his 3rd year of his Bachelor of Laws at USC, while working part-time at mylegal, a boutique law firm on the Sunshine Coast.

James started with the LSA as the Director of Legal Hands, where he oversaw engagement with future USC law students. Now, as VP of Competitions, he's excited to give students a chance to test their mettle in practical applications of their studies.
