Our speakers
Meg Lucas — Raised on the Sunshine Coast, Meg has forged a respected career in property and commercial law since graduating from UniSC in 2019. She joined Thompson Legal in early 2025, bringing a pragmatic and strategic approach that cuts through complexity and gives clients confidence in both their position and their next move. Her journey reflects a deliberate approach to growth, leadership and long-term contribution. Beyond practice, Meg remains closely connected to the Sunshine Coast community and is actively involved in her family’s classical and jazz performance venue, which supports emerging Australian musicians.
Rachel Martin — Rachel brings over 22 years of expertise in corporate, commercial, and financial services law to her role as Special Counsel at Argon Law. Her career includes nine years in private practice in Auckland and London, followed by 12 years in senior in-house counsel roles for both global and Australian corporates. Notably, Rachel served as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer for a New York Stock Exchange publicly listed financial services provider, overseeing legal operations across three countries, and as the lead commercial lawyer for the New Zealand subsidiaries of Woolworths Australia, where she developed a broad understanding of retail supply chains, logistics, and regulatory compliance.
Natalie Legge — Natalie is a former student of UniSC and was recently admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court. She has transitioned from paralegal to solicitor and is building her career in family law at Catton & Tondelstrand Family Lawyers. Natalie brings 3 years of family law experience to her new role as solicitor and takes pride in helping clients through what is often their most difficult time. Natalie also has a passion for supporting students to navigate the challenges of university and the daunting transition from law student to lawyer.
Jahna Cafe — Jahna graduated from UniSC in 2022 with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and was awarded the Una Prentice Award as the highest-achieving female graduate in her cohort. Following graduation, she served as Associate to His Honour Justice Freeburn of the Supreme Court of Queensland. She has since spent the past two and a half years practising in criminal defence with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service. Jahna recently passed the Queensland Bar Examination and is due to commence the Bar Practice Course later this month.
